Erm... by bidding $5,900 plus shipping?

Seriously, if this did not come from Topps itself, some employee had to slip it out the back. It never ceases to amaze me that items such as this have survived in their original form. That is one cool item... but apparently not 6 large cool.

    I've seen these before Jeremy.

Hard to say - might have come from the big 1989 Guernsey auction where Topps for the first time opened their storage vault and sold a ton of the best stuff on the planet! I was overseas at the time and missed it - if my wife would've let me, I would've flown to NY to witness the sale - view the stuff - and see if there was some stuff I could afford.

Another possibility - the Toppsvault? And last - good ole fashioned "back door" escapes. I understand proof roles, other proof items, misprints etc. either find their way out the back door or I also understand people went dumpster diving at the printing plant on a regular basis. This is what I've been told - I have no idea how true.

    6000+ views of the listing.

There is a pig/poke factor there.

If a reseller cannot calculate resale-profits, it is tough to spring for $6K.

Thats crazy! I collect 66 Topps raw and always run into these ruboffs but I have never anything like that.

I believe something simular was found with 1969 Topps Decals also, hence the relative glut of them sold by SAH and WCG aka Ken Goldin. How can PSA know for sure whether rub offs or decals come from a roll like this or from a pack?
