How much silver is in a 1902 Canadian Dime?

I was wondering how much silver is in a 1902 Canadian Dime? I'm looking at the Krause catalogue and I can't see it. There is the weight of the 5 cent coins above it and the changed dime of 1920 below it but nothing at the start of the TEN CENTS catagory. I have the 20th century Krause from 2002.

its .925, but I am not sure of the actual weight. It likely under .10

2.3g according to Charlton. That would be an ASW of 2.1275g = .0865 oz.

That's a start. So I know it is different from the 1920 type which chanages to .800 Silver. The 5 cent coin above it is also .925 silver but only 0.0347 ASW. Wouldn't is seem right that the 10 cent coin should have twice as much silver as the 5 cent one? So that would make it 0.0694 which works out to be a bit more than what's in the 1920.

In 1920, the silver content dropped to .800 from .925 and remained at .800 until 1968 and in that year, the silver content dropped to .500

The newest edition of Yeoman's "Brown Book" (14th edition, 2008) has an appendix of AGW (actual gold weight) and ASW (actual silver weight) in world coins.

Krause has that info too for every coin I've looked up so far - EXCEPT for the 1902 Canadian dime!

On page 271 in the 2007 Krause it has the silver content as 0.0691 ASW.

From 1920 to 1966 the ASW is 0.0600 ASW

Canadian silver dropped to .500 in mid 1967 and dropped to 000 (so to speak) in mid 1968.

Some 1968 coins are .500 silver, some are .000 silver.

Thanks ajaan. I guess the editor fell asleep when editing that part of my edition of Krause. Your number makes sense as it is about twice the content of the 5 cent coin of that era.
