I agree. The ones without nicks have a lot of spots and the ones without a lot of spots have a lot of nicks...

Nope, as of now there are no business strike Lincolns in 70 (at least none that I know of).

There's not even one any more. The 2003 that was graded 70 spotted and became a 69. PCGS took it in the shorts on that one. That makes you suspect that it's not likely that another 70 will be graded any time soon in terms of modern copper.

Say you have a PERFECT coin, no nicks, and only a few spots that don't take away too much eye appeal --- And it is actually an MS70, if the dot gov did their job right ..... what would PCGS grade it? what would NGC grade it? what would ANACS grade it? others?

This is why they decided not to grade MS70 ASE's for a while but they finally started. Maybe when the lincolns produce enough 70's in a given year so that the prices are reasonable PCGS will start grading them again.

I seriously doubt that a PCGS MS70 will be made anytime in the near future. Too much risk on the coin spotting.

FWIW, I believe that Blay's MS69 1919 will always be tops no matter if another 70 is made or not.

Well, in the case of the previous 2003 MS70, it cost a full point for a carbon spot that deverloped after it was slabbed.

Perhaps Keither could provide a photo or a scan.

What is a interesting fact is, its not economical to send these coins for grading.
In the case of sheer numbers, submitions of the modern coins age would only represent the tiniest fraction of coins wildly held by collectors.
I myself have a 100 or so rolls of the 2005 p cent. What I can say is, out of the couple of rolls I opened they look very promising indeed Cameo reds yum, and In many cases MS66, 67 or 68.

Most would agree submissions of the masses of coins is not economical, until a new generation of collectors become infatuated with the coin world.

Have you looked at the mint set coins.

These come incredibly nice. Take the '93-D for example. Nearly 10% of these
are virtually flawless to the naked eye and 10% of these are highly PL. One in
three or four hundred might have at least an outside shot at 70.
