Got a letter from Bart Starr

For those of you who have sent something to Bart TTM I'm sure this is old news. However, considering that I sent my first TTM request to him a month or so ago I didn't expect to get anything besides the signed card. When I sent the '59 Topps card I made it a point to include a money order and made it out to him. A week ago I received a letter for tax purposes as well as a newsletter from the charity that the money went to help. Today I received a follow up letter from Bart Starr. It's a pre printed sig on the letter, but it was still a cool gesture IMHO.

That's great! Very nice of you to post here. Bart Starr is without a doubt one of the kindest individuals you will ever meet. He's been involved with Rawhide for well over 30 years as far I can remember.

Another part of his generosity to charity: I recently read where he actually donoted the Corvette he won for being the Super Bowl MVP. He didn't just now donate it, but back when he was awarded it. I think this was for Super Bowl 2, so it might have been a '68 vette.

Just think, this was back in the late 1960's, when I'm sure he was still somewhat well paid for playing, but nowhere near earning the excessive salaries that today's pampered athletes literally steal.

Very cool - that they sent you an additional thank you note.

I think I have a Bart sig pic somewhere?

    Thanx for sharing
