Carl Crawford gets 1000th hit of career

I don't want this to become a flame Carl Crawford thread, but I just want to point out that he got his 1000th hit last night in the 7th inning in Tampa's 10-5 win over Baltimore.

<< <i>In reaching 1,000 hits, Crawford became the eighth player since 1900 to reach 1,000 hits and 250 steals before his 27th birthday (Aug. 5). That list includes Ty Cobb, Cesar Cedeno, Sherry Magee, Roberto Alomar, Eddie Collins, Tim Raines and Rickey Henderson. >>

<< <i>
Of Crawford's 1,000 hits, 74 are triples. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, of the 712 players who have reached the 1,000-hit mark over the last 60 years (1949-2008), only two had as many triples as Crawford when they reached the milestone: Gary Templeton (76) and Lance Johnson (74). >>

As far as I'm concerned, this thread is just further proof that baseball seems to not exist outside of Tampa Bay on this forum...

    Congrats to Crawford!
Grote, I don't understand your comment but you obviously feel threatened when people talk about the Rays? I think there are quite a few other teams well represented on this board.

My comment was a tongue-in-cheek riff on your post a couple nights back when you said that baseball outside New York, Boston or Philly doesn't exist on this forum. (see below):

FACT: Baseball seems to not exist outside of New York, Philly or Boston on this forum.

Bottom9th, please don't tell me you took my comment seriously, LOL! image
