Folks it was reported to me that a forum member had mailed a 1911 Matte proof and had the package returned with a neatly made slit on both the inner and outer envelop/package. A claim will be filed with the USPS. However, if anyone sees the coin for sale or is offered to buy it please do not. Report it to me and we will get the info to the owner who will notify the postal inspectors.

We should all do this! The thief may crack it out and resubmit.

Especially good advice. In Pennsylvania we are increasingly seeing newspaper reports of USPS employee theft. I believe the Postal Service has a serious problem on its hands.

I think the problem is at the senders PO as the sender and I also had a near miss.
That sucks!!!

That sucks.
Sender should use a different PO then...maybe someone behind the counter (not the counter person, maybe) recognizes the name or package style?
I recently had my first ever coin disappear....1 out of 2 coins in a bubble envelope being sent TO me......one I had to go to the PO to sign for. It was nicely ripped/cut in the back and 1 coin was removed from the wrapping (2 wrappings and 2 coins....1 was left untouched completely, 1 was opened, coin removed, wrapping put back). This all really sucks
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
