They are not really never ending of course but just seem that way. 8 out of 15 teams in each conference qualify and it is a best of seven series all the way. If we are lucky they will be done by the middle of June.
Remember when hockey was once considered a winter sport?

I also agree that although you do make a number of great posts Michigan, you've got to stop ragging on the NHL. Why is it always something negative? It's a great league, they've got packed houses in more than 2/3rds of the arenas (which is MUCH more than you can say about the NBA by the way), and there are some legitimately exciting series lined up as it stands. I mean forget about Mtl/Bos (although I believe the Bruins will take them to 6 games), but Cal/SJ I cannot wait for (something to stay up for), and the Pitts/Ott series should be good old fire wagon hockey.
I for 1 am really looking forward to it and I believe it's a great league.

I can't wait to Watch Ovechkin, MVP for sure this year.
Edit: Just wanted to say that people and media gave more hype to the Lightning when they were in the playoffs than when the Magic are and this is FLORIDA where supposedly nobody cares about the sport.

<< <i>You seem to post these thoughts around the beginning and end of the season each year - maybe just ignore the nhl if it bothers you so much?

I'm nothing if not consistant, besides it is hard sometimes to think of anything original to say.

I try to stay away from the ice, not much of a skater.
<< <i>the only good hockey, for me anyway, is playoff hockey. The season begins this week. And the NBA isn't much better insofar as death by playoffs is concerned. >>
I'll second that. But I do agree with Michigan. The playoffs are waaaaay to long.
oh, sorry, just seems like they do
