Yeah, not sending anything to them anytime soon... Although I do appreciate the honesty image

I hope that means they have more business....if so they should look for another world grader.

When I see a company that can't keep up with the demand for their product, I think of one of two things....
#1 - There product is the best out there and they want to keep it that way. They don't try to keep growing to the point that their company gets too big and they can't keep their level of quality. OR
#2 - They don't want to spend the money to grow and therefore keep falling behind. This in turn will lower their quality of service.
Since I don't use PCGS I will have to ask others what they think the outcome will be. I will say that I had a good and bad experience with PCGS (Both are the same incident).
I bought a First Strike Silver Eagle in a PCGS slab a while back. When I got it it was fine. After a while it began to have milkspotting on it. I called PCGS and explained to them what had happened. Eventhough I was not a PCGS member, nor was I the one that had the coin graded, they told me they would send me a spot review submission form and to send them the coin. I thanked them and waited. Well several weeks, then months, went by and I did not receive my form. I was figuring they were busy and I would eventually get it. I finally called them back the other day and asked if I could get a form. The lady looked up my name and saw where I was suppossed to be sent the form but never was. She advised it would be here within 4 to 5 days. So far I can't complain with their customer service. I have sent one coin to be graded, had my local dealer take a coin to NGC at the Miami show, so my experiences with grading services is limited. The company that looked at my other coin advised my dealer that the coin was authentic but had been cleaned. I have yet to figure this one out.... eithey way, it's real...that's all I really cared about. Now, having said all of that, I am looking for a grading service to start using. I have found that I like ANACS because they don't require a membership fee for sending in coins. I guess there is good and bad to that. As far as holder's go I like the ANACS, NGC, and even the SEGS holders that I have seen, but that alone will not affect which one I go with. I posted a few days ago about SEGS and asking opinions about them (and finding out that I should probably stay clear for now). I just want a company that is honest, reasonable prices, looks after their customers, and is respected in the business. I guess to some extent they all have these qualities, depending on who you ask.
Back to the original post... I guess 50 day turn around wouldn't be bad if they lowered the price of the submission. If the price stays the same and the time gets longer, then that isn't good.

That's why I went ATS with my last submission. I had six 18th and 19th C. pieces I wanted graded. 6 days total for standard World.

I don't think that Ron grades at all. I'm guessing of course, but with all that travelling he does to various shows etc, and all the novelties that PCGS has been introducing ever since he took the job, I doubt that he has any spare time to grade.

50 days eh? You should be now entitled to a few courtesy free vouchers.

No more free grading vouchers from PCGS. They did away with those.

Hrmm, sounds like customer service is going down.... I think that these changeds by PCGS will help the other companies to gain more business. I know mine will go elsewhere (unless someone gives good reasons why). It seems that PCGS coins go for no more than ANACS, NGC, and others on ebay....

Hmmmm? Don't know. If Ron wants to sign me to a 5-year, no cut deal at $300k+ per year, I'll be there next week. image

Then, you guys can let me know when you're sending World submissions to be graded, and I can then have purchasing order plenty of extra bodybag supplies!! imageimageimage

BTW, anybody ever beat my record of 126 days from P.O to P.O. ?

....speechless...imageimage Judging from the grades, there are several stunning pieces here Mac, congrats!

I've noticed that you did not ask for TrueView this time, I was looking for the 1903 franc's image, before the other Swiss loving wolves attack it. image

PS: And no John, owning a 1903 half franc is not a good excuse for priority on the franc of the same date. Besides you should wait for a 67 to pair it up with the half. image

That 1903 franc sure sounded nice.

Sadly, all are long gone save the lovely 1871 10Rp.

With this 1876 10 Rp, it's hard to envy any other of the type, still in my precious Swiss box of 20 of course, here imaged by Mac. image

And GemWorldCoins's pretty 1916 5F looks more and more tempting all of a sudden, here imaged by Mark Goodman. Welcome to the forum GemWorldCoins. image
