Envelope toning .... my first, first hand experience with it.

They are all in envelopes like this.





All of the dates have been been from back in the 40s and 50s and from what we can tell they were collected during a career traveling in the 60s and 70s.


I wish I could better capture the powder blue and baby pink of this Swiss 10 rappen.

I'll bet that's really lovely in hand, I have a few early US commems that have similar toning. It's really difficult to photograph them so you can see the light toning.

Pretty coin!

Have you tried to shoot it at a slight angle, with the light reflecting directly into the lense? That seems to pick up color much better than a head-on shot.
