Are Proof 1 Mark Pieces Worth Anymore Than MS pieces?

They don't list a proof value in Krause. Anybody know anything on mintages in this series?

How accurate is Krause pricing when it comes to MS 65 pieces or better?

Generally speaking, yes. I sorta' dabble in these, and obviously the higher the grade, the more they bring. My MS68 and 67s brought more than 65s and 66s of course; not a ton more (not multiples like many US coins), but usually 30% more than the 65s i've sold.

The proofs are kinda' all market related; i've seen them kinda all over the board, but i don't recall ever seeing one eclipse $200 or so for these years (and that was a 67 UC).

Vague i know, but like most things darkside related, there aren't tons of info (or auction records) out there to glean info from.

PS: i actually need that one for my budding collection, so if it needs a new home, well.......image

I find that the German 1 mark coins are highly over valued in Krause in Unc and BU.

Yes they are worth more than Krause. Here is one in Heritage lately I will take it off your hands at the Krause unc. priceimage I have sold several on ebay with common dates (1914 & 1915) for north of $200. BTW, the 1910F is not a common date proof. The only mintages that I know about are the 1905A: 460, 1906A: 430, 1906F: 200, 1906G 10-30. These can be found in the Jaeger catalog, which is the only source that I know of for proof mintages. Like US proof coinage, just because there is a mintage amount, all may have not been sold. 3Mark

I think they are undervalued. I think these are some the worlds most beuatiful coins. I will concur to a point that they may be over valued because there are a lot of them out there in great shape, so my estimation they are over valued is biased because I collect them! image
