Hello. New member needs help with Indian Head cent?

Hi all. This is my first post and figured I would post a coin Im kind of stuck on. Its not the best Indian out there, but its mine. Im stuck on the date. The bottom of the 7 has what looks like some doubling, is this a Indian Head cent variety?

Sorry if my pictures are not that good. Im learning and its going slow. Hopefully they are good enough to see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

  • Thank you for the help. I am unsure if the coin is au or low mint state. There does not appear to be any wear, but I could be wrong. Im no expert with these things.

Thanks again for the help and the welcome.

  • Thanks for the help and the wonderful welcome everyone. IS this a common rpd? Also, does it carry any premium? I love copper but I am still learning.

  • It is a pretty common RPD and would say it doesn't carry much of a premium. May i suggest you pick up Rick Snows book on Indians, it is a great reference point to start learning.

  • Thank you for the help with this coin. I guess I need that book. Are there any others on the series that are a must have? I have afew IHC's but never really got to into them. They are starting to catch my attention though.
Also thank you for the very nice welcome.

Several different varieties have a repunched 7 in approximately this location. None are particularly valuable but they are pretty cool.
  • I agree. Its not the coolest coin I have found, but it came in a bag of 5000 circulated Lincoln cents. I go through alot of those anymore. Thanks for the help. I can use all I can get.

I only have two albums and one of them is a Whitman for IHC's that I am filling with VG-F's.
I do have an MS 1907 that I didn't put in the album.
I guess I better thake a closer look at that '7'. image

    Hello and welcome!
I have helped a number of friends and relatives build IHC collections - it is a wonderful series.
I would grade your coin AU55 to AU58. Looks to be some rub on the ribbon, the hair lock right and below the ribbon, and the hair just right and below the forehead. The fields don't look particularly lusterous either, but it may be the pic.
