Did anyone else notice that the PCGS Population Report now shows there is an 1878 8TF that has been graded a mind-boggling MS68!?

Having been fortunate enough to examine one of the two MS67s that have been graded -- it's a VAM 14.11 -- I find it astounding that there's now an ever more pristine example of the date and type.

I also can't help but wonder which VAM it is.

On a WAG, I think it would have to be one of the ultra commons, like 1, 14.1, 17 or 21. Unless it shows up in a plated Registry set or a signature auction, or in the inventory of a dealer such as RCW, we may never know.

Since it's a recent addition, someone with A LOT of time on their hands could start entering recent cert numbers until they hit upon it. If the coin had been imaged, an attribution could be done.
