1948 Leaf Lujack - Trimmed?

I was looking through some auctions, and while I'm very hesitant to buy moderate and high priced cards off of eBay in a raw state, especially from sellers that have a significant amount of graded material, this particular card caught my attention.
I noticed that there are several other higher profile cards this seller has for auction that happen to be ungraded and upon closer examination (I realize that you can't really tell via a scan), I have some concerns with regard to their actual "original" condition. Even if graded VG-EX, some of these would sell for much more than in their raw state.
As an example, this Leaf Lujack is listed as NM, and even if PSA 6 EX-MT, it would probably eclipse whatever it will go for in this ungraded auction. Take a look:
It appears to me that the bottom edge has been trimmed as there is no bilateral symmetry with respect to the top edge and the hooks at the corners are a dead giveaway. Now, I'm not making any accusations with regard to the seller being the culprit, but I'm guessing that the seller does know that the card was or would be rejected if submitted for grading.
It is this sort of thing that I point to when people ask me why I would pay a premium and buy a graded card rather than a raw one that I could get at a "discount."
Is it just me? Or is this one of those threads that will get me bashed and eventually get deleted?

<< <i>I agree. Bottom edge looks whacked. >>
Is this just a Bridgewater/Branchburg thing?
Personally, I don't like the right edge either as the wear in the upper right corner is too "pinpointed" for the standard wear on the issue.
I'm sure we'll have someone who disagrees with my premise. In that case, I suggest they make certain they're the winning bidder and they can prove me wrong.
If you wish to finger me as paranoid, that's perfectly fine. I'd rather err on the side of caution than foolishly toss my money away.

<< <i>Left to right it's got a small tilt. Top to bottom, it's short on the right side. It's just a hair off diagonally as well. The top two corners having the wear they do looks like they had more but it was shortened up. I would say the bottom edge has had a little help. Great looking card for a raw set though. I would pass on it if i were looking to have it holdered. >>
My feelings almost exactly, but then again, I'm just "paranoid."
Better to be frugal with your money than foolish. As you know, 48's can be all over the board for size, centering and cut but this one looks a bit more suspicious than some others. I always find it interesting when the corner wear looks so much more advanced "into" the card, but the edges immediately next to it are undamaged.
