Those that thought about the "eyeclops"... + what is happening with the blob mintmark?

I know I saw a few threads on this before, and I had bought my son one to help with coins and exploring (what kid doesn't like to look at things blown up huge? ).

Anyway, we don't like it. I finally took some time to "play" with it this weekend and these are the best that we can do for the mintmarks. I think we will save up, pay off Uncle Sam for taxes, and get one of the Dinolites

btw.....what happened to the "fat mintmark" in the photo below? (these are 1947s Roosevelts)
We were hoping we had a 's' over 'd' on the other one, but, when blown up, even with this photo, I would say it isn't anything. The 'fat 's' blob' mintmark is just interesting.....

My point at showing those is that the eyeclops is nowhere near what someone would want. Yes, better than my digital point and click camera but much harder to use. Rather than the ~$40 I paid for this to be my son's present (and he will get some fun out of it, just not for coins...and that is what he kind of wanted), I will stretch and help him (and me) fund a dinolite I think. May be a month, or a few more, but I think that is the way to go if one wants close, specific, shots, and doesn't want to shatter the budget.

It has its place but I don't think it will replace the digital,,,, wait a minute,,, I thought the digital had its place but would not replace the 35mm's,,,,

Little bump to see if anyone has thoughts on what is going on with the blob mintmark...
