I actually have an easier time with proofs than I do with this coin.
If I to capture all of its colors it appears to be to much on an angle.
So I decided to image the obverse straight on and the reflection of the slab comes out blurry.
The reverse images very well but the obverse is driving me crazyimage

Lets see you toughest coin to image. And if you have any suggestions I have my ears open.

This one was probably the toughest coin in my entire collection to image. Still not entirely satisfied with them, but better than my previous attempts.

This has got to be it. Dark coin in NGC plastic - exposure problems.

  • When I first got this coin I was very interested in trying to take pics of it to show the color (I know it has probably been "helped" in getting to be this color but I liked the way it looked.

I had nothing but terrible results using what little knowledge I have so I decided to try something else.

This pic was taken with a 90mm macro lens. The settings were f4 and an exposure length of 10 seconds. Obviously, I used a minimum of light but the picture shows the coin exactly as it appears in hand.
