What's the story behind nu-card?

I remember seeing the Baseball headline type issue thru the years, but recently have found out about the Fooball cards/packs from the early sixties. Trying to find out more info, I have became aware of the Monsters and Rock and Roll cards this company issued. Does anyone have a link or any info on this company? The cards seem to be inexpensive compared to Topps/Fleer issues from the era. Why is this?
