I don't collect Roosevelts but I did buy a 1965 SMS dime today! How come dimes are flying under the radar? New cent designs coming. Jeffersons went through thier thing recently. Statehood quarters. No circulating halves. Pres dollars. Any news on Roosies?

I can't quote chapter and verse, but I read somewhere that although the '55's in all mints were among the lowest mintages, they were also saved in numbers, one reason I think because it was the last year of the San Franscisco mintages until the latter 60's. The 55's seem to show up more often than the 58's--one line of reasoning is that many 58's were lost to the melts. In any case, there's still appears to be millions of Roosevelts available in most any year and mint in BU condition and in rolls.
The rolls are kind of fun to collect for me because there isn't a huge premium in most cases over melt. I try to get the OBW rolls and there are some out there to be had with some patience. Although I used to open rolls when I first got them, I don't any more. There's something about thinking you may have some really high grade coins hiding in a roll. There's some nice end toners to be had as well. There's a continuing interest in original rolls which hopefully will lend to their increase in value over time.

If I were to hoard rolls this would be my choice.
