Does anyone know where I can find a list for the coins sold in the 1954 King Farouk sale?

Well, I just bought an 1950 Syria half pound ex. Pitman collection. I know Pittman bought a few coins from the King Farouk collection in 1954. He even re-mortgaged his house to do so.




It may be a long shot but since this coin is dated before that sale and from Syria I thought he may have bought it in the Farouk sale.
It's not a particularly rare or expensive coin (mintage 100,000) but like many of Pittmans coins it is of high grade. I don't know if King Farouk only purchased expensive and rare coins but any info would be appreciated.

The 1954 catalogue lists only one Syrian gold lot-#1285 containing 2 1950 20 lire and 2 1950 10 lire gold pieces in MS "very rare." Apparently hammered at 34 pounds!

Thanks Bob.

Krause only list 1 Lire (which was struck in 1950) but its silver. The other denominations are Piastres and Pounds.
Unless they were patterns or trials unlisted in Krause, or maybe its the same coins but an incorrect or different denomination listed.

Can anyone else add any more info please?

Is their such a coin as a Syrian 1950 20 and 10 lire gold coin?
