Vam? question, dot in D? 1885 Morgan

Looking at some coins tonight I noticed he following dot inside the d in united. Looks like an extra berry. Any body know the VAM for this or if it is not a Vam what it is? I looked in Vamworld and didn't see anything mentioning the d. The coin is a 1885 P, and has some nice cracks in it. Weird thing is I saw a very similar thing in a 1887 also.

To me, the dot looks incuse instead of raised (correct me if I'm wrong). If that's the case, then it's a struck-thru or post-mint damage...

I, too, can't tell if the dot is raised or not.

Pictures are very good and detailed, but the light is reflecting off of the dot in a strange way.

It almost looks like is is raised and lowered at the same time.

Me three and I have been looking at it for a long time tonight. When my eyes are fresh I will figure out if it is raised or not. Something about the area has made it very hard to get a decent shot.
