Has black gunk and/or corrosion on the reverse.Any way to remedy some or all of the existing problem?,or is there nothing to be done. All suggestions welcomed.
Thanks for the suggestions. The reason I asked,is because it's a 1934-D,Micro D,Vam 4.Very tough Vam to come across and was thinking of how to preserve it.

The xoin is what it is. I'd give it a godd and safe acetone treatment to see what you do have. Very nice VAM for sure anyway. The obverse isn't terribly worrisome. The reverse though? Good luck!

Judging by the look of it, you have nothing to lose.
