PSA Labels

From what I understand, the new PSA labels place the grade number below the condition. For example:

Gem Mt 10

is now

Gem Mt
10

However, I haven't seen any cards like this yet. Didn't PSA make the switch and label all their cards that way?

  • Yes. As of (I forgot the date), that is the new format.

Another question, the PSA bar code. First, is the bar code a reflection of the serial number or the actual card. For example, do all PSA 6 1952 Topps Mantles have the same bar code? Second, what is its purpose? Are these bar codes scanable? Even if they are, why would there be a need to scan them?

EACH individual card graded gets it's own bar code.
If you have a bar code scanner and scanned the bar-code, you would get the serial number.
I run a business in which we have to make bar codes for some of our products, so I've actually scanned some of my cards bar codes into my "card spreadsheet"
I don't know why they put the actual bar code on the card. A serial number would seem to be sufficient.
