My Trip To South Korea And Japan In Pictures

I'll try to keep this coin related, at least at the beginning
My group of 18 MBA students started out on Friday, March 14 and left the Cincinnati airport to go to South Korea for 7 days and Japan for 3 days. After about 18 hours in the air, we arrived in Seoul. On the first day of touring, I noticed an interesting design on the wall tiles of the underground labyrinth through which we were walking.

I think it was the same area that members suggested I could buy coins from, but it ended up being a busier trip than I originally thought and never had a chance. Later that night, we were walking around the city and passed the Bank of Korea, a very interesting looking older building, although there was a newer BOK building to the left of this as well.

After running around all day long, we went to the local bar and had a "few" drinks. I'm the one on the right, my roommate is in the middle and another friend on the trip is on the left.

After we were in Seoul for a few days, we went by bus to the other end of the country to Ulsan to visit a few different companies including Hyundai Heavy Industries. They build large ships as seen in the picture. We also visited Hyundai Motors and SK Energy.

After Ulsan, we went back to Seoul for another day before flying to Tokyo. We were there for about 3 days, more for sightseeing than the company visits we did in South Korea. The next picture is the Odaiba area of Tokyo. The bridge was behind a replica of the statue of liberty and was a great photo-op at night.

On the last day before heading back home, we made one of my favorite stops; Tsukiji Fish Market at around 6AM. I'm a big fisherman so I really enjoyed seeing just about everything in the sea being offered under one roof. These were just a few of many many more Tuna laying around everywhere.

It was a great trip and I'm still trying to catch up on sleep after getting back at 12:30AM Monday and doing school work continuously until now. But, I hope everyone enjoyed the pictures I posted (out of the 1200 I took). Feel free to comment

<< <i>Yes, you were right at the underground shopping area. It was under the Bank of Korea building you took. I took almost the same picture last week but during the day.

We went by the area during the day too, but didn't get much time to shop in the area. I really wish that I had time to at least get a mint set but when we went by during the day, it was with a group that wasn't going to stop, and at night, the stores were closed.
