Did you notify PCGS/NGC to watch for a crossover submission. I would think that they have a list of stolen coins they watch for.

Did you end up mis-shipping eBay items? Ouch!

I once sent nine audio CDs to Texas that ought to have gone to New York. Shipping records, grovelling, a great and understanding buyer and 3 weeks of time was able to correct the matter. It could have been worse...one of the packages that day was going to Brazil. That experience caused me to alter my packaging practices.

And once, a seller sent me an unexpected 2004 ASE Proof. I sent it back to a grateful seller. He probably broke out the whip on his elf-helpers...perhaps just a tongue lashing.

If this was eBay...I wonder if one could use some sort of eBay tool to watch what those 30 people are selling...if they resell this item...*gotcha*

I remember that coin, I was going to bid but got busy. I hate those kind of shipping mix-ups

Jason sorry to hear of the coin being misplaced. I didn't get that coin, I really wanted it and bid but was out bid and missed out.

Again thanks for the pq76, it is a great looking dime

I did that last week and the buyer said he got the rong coin so I ask if he can send it back and he said no he will keep it, it's the same price as the coin he did buy 2005-P satin finish MS-68 and it was a 2007-D MS-65FS now I need to try to get a new one so I can ship to the right buyer. This sucks.

Super coin. Logistics are a nightmare, though.

I have asked PCGS if they offer the service of a stolen coin list. They do not.

Your statement seems to be a bit vague. What do you mean you sent the coin in error? And the 1 of 30? Did you at least try to contact any or all of the 30? It's Spring Break. Maybe the person went on vacation. Who knows?

Anybody who would keep a coin sent to them by mistake is a truly miserable human being. My parents explained such concepts to me, and for that I am eternally grateful. Honesty makes the world a simpler place.

I hope you get it back, seateddime. If not, maybe you'll get lucky and be able to nail the SOB.

What will you do if you do find out who has it? I don't think there's a thing you can do about it since you shipped it to them. I know it's not right but I don't think anything could be done legally.

I had a Postal Clerk place a delivery notice for a $1200 coin addressed to me in the wrong P.O. box back in November. Then another clerk(counter) gave the coin to that person without requesting ID or verifying a match between the address on the package and the signature/address applied to the digital screen they use now. Fortunately the recipient returned it to the P.O. branch after they opened it and had a flash of honesty. I'm confident you'll get your coin back.

Sdime, no reward is necessary on this board, in my HUMBLE opinion!
Hope you do get it back, as it will show up someday.
