philly and denver mints strike sac bucks without approval.
tentatively scheduled for release in late spring and into summer. the mints struck circulation quality 2008-p
and d sacs for at least two months before mint officials alerted congress of a technical flaw in the native
american coin act that prohibited the coin's production.
the loophole was closed feb. 29 when bush signed into law a technical amendment to the act, granting
the mint the authority to continue production of the dollar coins for numismatic sales. this out of cw april 7
issue, page 5.
