Is this auction Legit?

I came across this today in my perusing of eBay auctions. Is this coin in a legitimate PCGS holder? The cert number matches the PCGS system, but I don't see PCGS any where on the holder. I realize they've been through several incarnations through the last 20 years, but I was hoping someone here could verify whether this is a PCGS holder. Thanks

Thats one of PCGS's original slabs, commonly referred to as a Rattler.

Yes, a rattler. And a pretty coin too!

It looks like a PCGS rattler 1st generation holder. I do think the auction violates eBay policy, because it doesn't show both sides of the slab...someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Yup, supposed to show both sides...
  • Thanks guys!

Also, I'm wondering why that isn't designated RD. Could be something wrong with the lighting, or perhaps stricter standards when it was slabbed.

I'm thinking the reverse is what limits it to RB. Nice coin though.
