Does anyone know if 1955 Canadian Cents were made in a metal other than copper? I have one that look

it is made out of nickel.

It is the size of a Canadian Copper small cent, but it has no copper. It looks like nickel and it has a hole drilled in it near the rim. Looking into the hole I see no hint of copper color.

Very strange, but I do not know much about Canadian coinage.

Can you post a pic? I wonder if it was plated after the hole was drilled.

    Sorry, can not post pics.

I will have to look at the cent again tonight and take a closer look at the edges and the hole.

    A very strange coin indeed.
