Yeah, Howard is the new Babe Ruth. Only problem is that Ruth had that many K's when he pitched and not when he hit.

  • Johan should be lights out in the NL. The only thing I can so to Mets fans are just settle down during the first two innings or so. Last year with the Twins he always gave up runs but then settled down. The Mets should have enough offense to overcome it. Howard=Ruth? ugh

So you are saying once the first 8 Phillies cross home plate in the 1st inning Johan should be fine after that.

    LMAO...ah ok

I think "Babe Howard" has a nice ring to it.

I also think "2nd place Mets" has a nice ring to it.

Fot Steve, who has precious little to look forward to these days as far as the Sillies are concerned, the memory of last year's first round playoff sweep is all he has to cling to. This year, the Sillies will not be able to duplicate their 48 come from behind wins from last year and will finish behind both the Mets and the Braves. 3rd place ain't too bad for Howard & co. ..He'll get his money anyway.

Okay, so Howard is in a slump, but almost all hitters go through this and I'm expecting him to snap out of it any day now. It isn't unusual at all for power hitters to go into slumps such as this. Almost all power hitters are streak hitters to a large degree. Soon, in a series, Howard will smack 4 or 5 home runs and this slump will be long forgotten.

And oh yea, btw...the Phillies are still in first place despite this. Ha!
