R21 - 1937 Wolverine Gum - Ripley's Believe It or Not

I just picked up 2 more cards from this set, bringing my total to 6 (Which includes 2 High Nos.). I started this set a year ago and rarely see even the low numbers come up for sale. I know that the high numbers are tough, but are there any numbers that are "TOUGHER/SCARCER than other numbers within the Low/High Series?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hats off to you man - that's a TOUGH TOUGH set to collect. What kind of condition are your 6?

  • The cards I have are Nos. 5, 7, 17 (Graded PSA4), 36 & 46. The raw cards will probably grade at 3 to 4. No.5 has a small pencil mark on the reverse top right hand corner. I posted this question on the Net 54 NonSports Forum and learned that No. 34 - THE GREAT JOHN L. is the highest priced card in the set since Boxing collectors go after that one. I'm a glutton for punishment. In addition to the Ripley's set, I'm also trying to get:
    1. G-Men & Heroes of the Law - Many very tough cards
    2. War News Pictures "Dirty Dozen" - Nos. 109 to 120 (Have 5)
    3. Home Defense Hi Nos. 121 to 144 (Have 2)
The feeling of satisfaction when I acquire one of the tough cards is indescribable. I'll probably never get them all but I'm having fun trying.
