Good to see some Cuban GOLD on this forum image

Bob; I'd have to grade that coin as MS61 due to all the chatter in the fields..

BTW _ANYONE have a nice MS62ish Cuba 20 Peso 4 sale ? I need a nice example for my type set.
  • What about Cuban Silver? I think that's so under valued right now, very often selling for way below melt.

I would agree with MS-61. Do you know what's going on at about 1 o'clock on the reverse?

    Nice coin, and excellent pictures!

    Nice coin, great pictures.
I don't know much about these coins but I'll go for AU58. Due to wear on the high points of the obverse (ear and some of his hair).

  • Nope! No idea what's happening with that black mark on the reverse.

I'm surprised you folks thought the pics are pretty good. I was not quite sure I had taken good pics. Thanks! The coin does look so much better in hand though.

This coin is still raw. I too am guessing a AU-58. Not sure if I'll send it in for grading or maybe off to the bay, as is, when Gold breaks the $1K mark again...

It appears from the wear on the obverse that it was in a bezel at one time. Nice coin though. -Dan

I think Cuban pre-revolutionary coinage will take off. One of my wonder coins is a 1915 Gold Peso in PCGS 67. Don't have a pic, but here's some silver. I'm on my way to completing the ABC Peso series in UNC condition.

I'd go AU-55 on the 5p due to hits, stain and rub.

  • Dan! You are right. This particular coin did come to be in a bezel.

Filam, I hope you are right about Cuba. I've gotten myself deeper than I would like to be in the Cuban stuff, especially the early Silver.
