Yeah, I saw this too, the interesting thing is, they cut off the strings to take the parachute to the FBI, and now don't know where the rest of the chute is in the field. Could DB's body be buried in the field?
<< <i>It sounds like the kids werent around when the FBI came out to look around so nobody was there to point them to the right place. >>
I found this to be rather peculiar in that, where the heck were the kids and certainly they could have been located to pinpoint where the chute was found?
"Children playing outside their home near Amboy found the chute's fabric sticking up from the ground in an area where their father had been grading a road, agent Larry Carr said Tuesday. They pulled it out as far as they could, then cut the parachute's ropes with scissors."
I wonder if there's a body connected to the "other" end?
I'm sure the FBI is releasing some information that is to the contrary to possibly keep the media away from these people as much as possible, if that is even possible.

In 1980, a family on a picnic found $5,880 of Cooper's money in a bag on a Columbia River beach, near Vancouver. Some investigators believed it might have been washed down to the beach by the Washougal River. But if Cooper landed near Amboy and stashed the money bag there, there's no way it could have naturally reached the Washougal.
"If this is D.B. Cooper's parachute, the money could not have arrived at its discovery location by natural means," Carr said. "That whole theory is out the window."

Apparently not close enough that it could get from point a to point b by natural means.. meaning someone moved it there. I have seen 5 or 6 reports on this and everyone has a different story... guess in time we will find the truth out.

It seems to me that there could be at least a couple of explanations: 1) He got separated from the money as soon as he jumped or during the descent. 2) He survived the jump and was able to hang onto the money but then had to find his way out of the wilderness. 3) It was an inside job. The crew threw the parachutes and some of the money out of the plane and kept the rest.

I think they said if this is where he landed there was no natural way for the money to get to where it was found.

<< <i>(3) seems plausible, but wouldn't that plane have been searched from top to bottom when it landed? >>
And they were able to land the bag of cash in a river after dropping it from a plane?
