what to do @ 179? Cent...

I regret that I do not have the ability to post out a good pic - I have not seemed to be able to master the whole fine-grain picture thing yet, but hopefully you can help me anyway...
I have a cent. I can promise you that if graded it will be in the P01-P04 range.
I can make out most of the date but not all of it. It appears to match up to a 1799.
If submitted, would the fine folks at PCGS have a better shot at determining the actual date? The 4th digit is almost worn flat but the upper 55% is identical to the preceding number which is a 9.
Feedback and thanks!

I have spent the last 30 mites with a caliper and the pics I found on the PCGS site measuring, scaling and identifying the teensy differences between the placement of the 98 and 99.
Reverse and obverse both indicate a 99.
I still will likely take up your offer on shooting it...Sit tight and I will get hold of you in the next week or so.
Thanks for the offer!
