  • Most people say USPS Registered mail is the only way to sent coins safely.

I've never sent in coins, so I really don't know.
  • registered/insured. it's the best way to go. i really hate the brown paper tape part though.

Registered-Insured offers the greatest "security" for your submission. You can also submit Priority Mail/Registered-Insured. Some will argue that Registered Priority doesn't get there any quicker then Registered Parcel Post but I've had good results with Registered Priority Mail.

Another alternative is Express/Overnight which gets it there quicker but the security thing is not as traceable. In other words, If it gets lost, its anybodies guess as to where it was lost at whereas a registered package is signed for all along the way. When those get lost, they know who handled it last and can go from there.

I've submitted under all three different services and have not had a problem yet.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Agreed, registered and insured. The brown tape is a bit of a hassle though.

    Registered and insured. Yep.

Seems to be the safest way to send coins.

  • Though, USPS customer service/postal clerks will tell you that registered mail takes much longer than regular mail, my experience has been that it's really quite fast: the last three times that I have sent parcel post, registered/insured, my packages still got there in three mailing days. Depending on where you live, finding the required, special, brown, smear-resistant, paper tape at a local store is difficult or even impossible. Some post offices carry it others don't, though. When I lived in Pierre, SD, there was literally no one who sold that tape in town. And the post office said they didn't carry it, because few people sent registered mail. Fast forward a few months with me safely ensconced back in suburban Wash, D.C. and my local post office does carry it. Very convenient. Anyhoo...
