Santa Rosa, CA Show this Weekend

For those who are from Northern California there is an excellent annual coin show this weekend in Santa Rosa, CA held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds. It is hosted by the Redwood Empire Coin Club and runs on Saturday and Sunday. In the past this show has been very well attended and has plenty of great dealers in attendance as well. I will make the trip on Saturday. Is there anybody planning to go?

No table for me but I will try to make it. Can't guarantee that I'll be there, though.

  • My father is going to be there, I think it is his first show ever, I am trying to get him back into collecting coins. He said he is looking for a certified Type II Gold dollar in at least AU condition. He lives in Santa Rosa

Just a little too far north for me. I would have to bring my two kids on a 2-3 hour ride. image

How many tables are there usually?

I'd like to go but it would be a long drive. The Livermore Show was ok but I didn;t really think it was worth the drive. They had perhaps 40 tables.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

This show is about 90 tables or so, and it is a much bigger and better show than Livermore.

  • I'll be attending today. Looking for ASE's maybe.... or an 1850, 53, 55 or 1861 anything cheap. Looking for gifts. Coming up from the Antioch area. For myself I'll be looking for Casino Silver Strikes.

Just out for the drive mainly got to get out and about. Hope to come home with a new waffle maker if Fry's in Concord or the Kitchen Collection in Petaluma has the one I am looking for in stock. image

I'll be the one wearing the NO SLAB CASINO CHIPS button.

Although I wasn't at the show Saturday, about every dealer I asked stated that the attendance was excellent for almost the entire day and sales were strong overall.

    WTCG,

I was told the same thing by most of the dealers I spoke with.

i found 3 dealers with Casino Silver Strikes and one with casino chips. The chips seemed to be overpriced. However since the $10 Casino Silver Strikes contain approximately .6 troy oz each I was able to sort through and find what I wanted for $15 each.

I picked up a 1961 Proof set for my brother's upcoming birthday and a nice 1885 AU Morgan for a friend.

Even for a Sunday show and well up north of me I thought the show was well stocked and attended. Just can't wait for the Santa Clara show!

It was for me a beautiful day and drive as I took the backroads and enjoyed the scenery.
