Hard to find grades

I've been looking and looking and looking for an AU-54 coin...any coin...but to no avail. This must be a very rare grade indeed!

The 'sixties' are apparently fully covered. But not the 'fifties'. What am I to do?

If I get an AU-55 and mash it a bit, i'm afraid they'll regrade it as a 53 and not a 54!

Help!!!

I figure if I submit an AU-52 enough times, they'll eventually reward my repeat business with an upgrade to 53...

I had a heck of a time finding a grade of 95 in calculus class!

(PS: "AU" is too narrow a grade category to accommodate 10 points.)

I'm trying to complete my grade set and i'm finding it's really hard.

There are a few key grades. I don't see many 54s for example. 59 seems rare too.

The common ones are easy to come by and quite cheap.

I suspect that the rare grades will require me to pay moon money?

I assume so. I hope so anyway.

I REALLY hope that this is a joke.

If it isn't, the I'm going to now inform you that there are no 54 and 59 grades for coins.

I can get some blank slabs and properly label your 52's and 59's. image

Why limit yourself to the AU-54s and AU-59s?

What about the XF-43s or XF-47s?

Just wait till you get a 45 and read from right to left

Geeee...maybe those are "condition rarities" and worthy of some stickers and much higher prices....sorry, this whole numerical grading nonsense is incredibly cynical.

call ACG, NNC, or NTC. they will make you all the custom grades you need. Just specify which ones you're missing, and they will be happy to comply.

  • Ok, I guess I'll give out a serious answer...

    The grade AU51, 52, 54, 56, 57, and 59 are NOT ever used. Never. The only grades is use are: PO01, FA02, AG03, G4, G6, VG8, VG10, F12, F15, VF20, VF25, VF30, VF35, XF40, XF45, AU50, AU53, AU55, AU58, MS60-70.

Of course i'm not serious! I did, however, wake up with a particularly cynical attitude today.

However, I suspect that a 53 with a sticker on it is Essentially a 54. With the advent of stickers, I can get most of the 50s!!!

It's not all that difficult. Just watch for someone listing their coin as AU-53+, and -voila!- you've found one!

I think your only alternative here is to open your own service! That way you could hit all the odd ball numbers!

    How about an XF-44? Or a F-17?

I was thinking the same thing as I typed. F-14 anybody? It would be the Tom Cat of coins!
