SGC using/leaving sleeves for thick cards now

I finally just got around to scan these for my photobucket. Got my order back a couple days ago. My last order along with this one has all the thicker cards in a condom. Apparently, it's the penny sleeves I sent the card in which I don't mind at all since they're condition sensitive. Maybe that's why they left them in the sleeves? I think the thicker cards aren't going to move anywhere anyway because they're thicker as some folks say that their cards do move in the black inserts, but I guess those are regular thin cards. Anyway, thought I'd share a couple: you can see the sleeve in the scan....
bad or good?

  • pretty nice. Beckett uses sleeves for all cards. I like it because in holders such as PSA's it seems the edges can still hit up against their seal.
  • The sleeves do not take away from the presentation. I have had a few PSA slabs where I feel the cards slide around a bit too much so the sleeves would have been helpful.

Did PSA experiment with the card condoms for a while? I have a a couple 1950 Bowman football that have the sleeves whereas the rest do not. A slight inconsistency that will drive me nuts until I rectify it I am sure.

    A.C.D. is a hoot!
