This is what I'm talking about Nick... here I am, taking my time to do a fun rip on the boards and you have to be an ass. You wonder why I dont like you....
Am I out of line here? Does anyone else agree?
Whatever man... here's the first couple scans... I finally got the SOB working!
It's ridiculous how much he looks like my fiancees brother in law, Joel. We all call him Sammy at family parties. The best part? He's got a brother named Sammy.
I remember the game cards to get the winner packs.
The early game cards were made of thin stock - so if ya shined a halogen light behind the card, ya could pick the winners to scratch off.
Later on, they got wise and made the cards thicker. Some say Topps "knew" what they were doing and purposely made them thin to increase the sales of their product? Who knows.
Hey Stone. Yeah, someone mentioned that on page 1. I didnt know that, cool fact! I didnt collect cards back then, but I know I would've been all about these winner cards. Cool idea!!
I've pulled one Manny and it's DEAD CENTERED with four perfect corners so I have high hopes for it!
I've also pulled MANY cards for the people on page 1. I'll save those for last though
So here's the last couple scans from this section of the rip. I did half the packs, 100 total, and I'm tired, so I'm hittin the sack soon (12:37 AM here).
I would be interested in any Clemen's, Alan Trammell's and Lou Whitaker's you pull. Let me know....
Thanks, -John

I am glad I was not the only one who did the flashlight trick. Those were the days you could buy a whole box for under 20.00 sell all the stars and rookies anf get your money back then sell those gold cards for even more.
The original plan was for the winners to recieve the regular gold foil cards found in the packs, but when Topps got hit with dealers sending in thousands of winners they added the winner stamp.
Coming up next are the scans of th cards that I put aside for the people on page one. I didnt get something for everyone, but hey, dont feel bad, I only pulled one manny out of all 200 packs for myself.
So if you see your name here and you're interested in the cards, please just PM me your addres, they're yours.
Nice rip, Alan! That looked like a lot of fun! They may not be rare by any stretch but there is quite a bit of star power in those packs! And thanks for the Ryans! But I only need one of each so if there was someone else out there that wanted a Ryan feel free to send them one. Thanks again! And good luck with the Manny! That one shows a lot of promise!

Thanks Chris, yeah it was a lot of fun! I love doing these rips. I think I might do 89UD next time to pull a couple Griffey RC's. And enjoy your Nolan Ryan!
I think the Manny's a 10. It's dead centered with absolutely flawless corners. I even looked at it with my loupe and it looks perfect. We'll see!!!
