    Very cool piece image

What is the story behind these? It seems to indicate the US was cheating Americans with silver dollars.

Proponents of William Jennings Bryan's Presidential campaign on a platform of "Free Silver" wanted to impress upon the American public the reality that while a gold dollar was actually valued at one dollar in terms of the bullion value of the gold content by weight , the silver (Morgan) dollar only had a value of fifty eight cents in terms of the silver bullion content by weight.
