1828 Capped Bust Dime - Opinions please

sparky64sparky64 Posts: 7,041 ✭✭✭✭✭
If possible with my usual murky pics.
Well worn but really nice rims which may not show from album photo.
Pretty sure it's variety 2. I like the lower mintage - 125,000.
Anybody have any other quck info about it?
Only paid $35 so I couldn't go too wrong. Or did I?

I like it, especially for only $35.00.

    Congratulations!

There are two varities of 1828 Dime. One has a square base 2, the other a curved base 2.
Yours is variety 1, the square base 2.
The curved base 2, variety 2, is the rarer of the two varities.

That's the small date, square base knob 2. The reverse is pretty banged up but the obv. is ok for the grade. Overall I'd give it a net G-06 and it's a better date so I think you did ok. image
I never thought that growing old would happen so fast.
