A new numismatic term: "Guitar pick toning"

dizzyfoxxdizzyfoxx Posts: 9,823 ✭✭✭
I was just checking out this coin and I've determined what to call its' toning pattern. It's not crescent toning, or rim toning, or bullseye toning. The untoned brilliant area is kinda the shape of a guitar pick. Hence, a newly discovered toning pattern numismatic adjective.image

It does look vaguely like a guitar pick. However, I'd be more inclined to call that a shark's tooth.

Yes, I think the term "guitar pick toning" look will stick.
It's right up there with the "nose pick toning" look.
