    Yup.

But, I cannot recall the names of the products.

    About 1957 thru 1960.

Little magnetic guys on an elevated metal-board. When you hit the
button, the board would vibrate and the fellows would head for the
    goal line.

    Very cool Mark.

I believe I'm the only board collector on this forum.

Here's a popular "electric" game from the 40s - 50s. This is the Jim Prentice baseball - same manufacturer as the FB game illustrated.

What I like most about them is the graphics. Next to video games, these things are pretty archaic.

I've never picked up the Strat-o-matic games since I don't care for the graphics - and it's more of a statistical game with dice - I believe.

I'm gonna have to make a web real soon and link all my areas of interest with good scans or photos - since I don't have enough room to display all the different stuff I collect.

Mike - you're right about SratoMatic having cards and dice. My friends and I played it growing up. We would hold a draft just like a fantasy league would today, had a schedule of games, the works. The game ended up ay Goodwill at some point.

Thanks for the note on the SratoMatic. I changed the thread title to be more accurate.

I've got quite a few ads with sports figures in them stashed away. Here's a couple I've got scanned in Photobucket:

    THun,

It looks like there's a Carew card on the cover of your game. What year was it issued? Looks like I'm going to have to add that card to my Senators/Twins type collection. Thanks for sharing that pic!

    Me Laughing.

I was about to email the mods and ask why the thread was poofed.

I was searching all over for the word "electric."

    I like this thread, alot.

  • Hey Mike B.

To the best of my knowledge this game is from 1984.

All the cards are from TOPPS with the front photos especially used for this game - the back being the same as the regular topps issue.

    I hope that helps.

    cheers

Those cards were popular for a while - till people realized how many of these games were manufactured.

I have one in the original factory seal:

This sucka hasn't seen daylite, moonlite, flashlite - Isrealite or any other kind of lite! image

I have quite a few games - I will eventually get around to taking pics of the entire game and any of the interesting boards.

The oldest game I have is a 1908 Parker Bros Peg Baseball:

And my favorite one is the Mickey Mantle Baseball Game - circa 50s and it's complete - they're usually missing the Mantle card/and pic - usually sold separately or missing:

  • Hey Mike B.

I went back and looked at the Carew in the set. Unfortunately he is listed as a California Angel. (save you some time)

I did find this 1986 Kirby Puckett:

  • Stone -

    sweet old games !

Yeah, my Topps baseball has hosted a few World Series games. But I never used the cards. We made cardboard replacement with all the card data.

Man, I was takin' care of the card even back then !

    cheers

As I said - what attracts me to the games of the 40s and 50s is the graphics.

Here's one: Little League Baseball - circa 50s - Standard Toycraft Inc.

And..."You're Out" Baseball Game, circa 1941 - Corey Games.

Hey! Thank YOU for letting me know that the set -- and Carew! -- are from '84. Definitely not a Twin then! Any other Twins in the set?? I'd have to guess that Kent Hrbek may have been the only "big" name at the time...

I had to dig around, but I did find that I have a raw copy of that '86 Fleer LL Puckett (#32 of 44). Thanks again for the heads-up!

    Thanx Mike.

So here goes: Bob Feller's Big League Baseball - 1959 Saalfied Art Company.

And, Swat Baseball - 1948 - Milton Bradley:

Again - I like the graphics more than the game - most are - by our standards - kind of boring since there's no video screen.
