Just won the final card I needed on Ebay to complete my set in NM, uncracked, condition, after working on it since 1995!
Final card was #2 (Seaver), which I have been trying to acquire for about a year and a half (got outbid a couple of times).
As people may or may not know, 1971 was the only year that you could not buy a complete set directly from Kelloggs, and therefore is considered to be the most difficult of all the Kellogg's sets to complete. Although I had the set completed in 2002, it contained 10-12 cards with small cracks which I have been trying to upgrade ever since.
I will be selling the set in order to fund other purchases, so if you're interested PM me.

Good job
Steve
Congrats! Well Done.

Generally, this is usually due to the fact that most Kellogg's cards have developed a curl over time, and when forced into a flat holder are subjected to additional stress which occasionally leads to the development of a new crack.
Tho, I always feel bad when I hear someone is gonna sell something that was a lot of work to assemble.
I've been working on a 63F BB set since 2004 - 4 yrs - and am at 67% - I have an emotional attachment to it.
Good luck on the sale.

Thanks for the congratulations.
It's not a set I'm particularly attached to, since I don't think the design is anything special, which is why I'm going to sell it. I mainly started collecting it for the challenge since it was the only one you couldn't buy directly from Kelloggs. I've also completed the 1970 set (my favorite of all the Kelloggs sets), which is staying in my collection.
I'm trying to decide between 1961 Fleer Basketball, 1955 Bowman FB, and 1956 Topps FB for my next set building project. I've already got a few of the key cards from the 1961 Fleer Basketball set, so may do that one first.
Some of you seem to forget than scanning cards and then uploading them to Photobucket is somewhat time-consuming!
What price do you want for your set?

I've had my 1971 Kellogg's set since 1971 ... when my neighbor, who worked for Xenographics, gave me the entire set.
I still love it. I wish I could sit every morning and stare at the cereal box that has the next card in it.
FREE INSIDE used to be the sweetest two words in America !
cheers
Thanks for the kudos....unfortunately, the Seaver turned out to have a tiny crack which the seller missed, so I am still looking to upgrade it.

Am heading off to Beijing for the Olympics pretty soon, but will be looking to sell it when I get back.
