D'oh. Yeah, now I see the big 1887 smack dab in the middle. That IS a beautiful piece.

    John

That's a beauty! I remember an article on currency like that in SCD - I've never seen any myself.

Those are much nicer than trade cards from the era IMO.

Congratulations - where did you pick it up?

    Thanx for sharing

Thanks for the kind words. Bought it from a high end coin dealer that I do coins with who called me on it knowing I do baseball stuff. I have no idea what it is worth graded. vg examples (mostly miscut) go around $750. This is supposed to be the best of the best and as of now I agree.

Only flaw I see is the centering. No fold lines as it wouldn't grade 65

    Nice piece.

John, within the certificate is the word 'club' missing some ink?

    Very nice!
Ive owned 2 of the 1887 Chicago's, 1 1889 Chicago's, and 1 1888 Detroit Currency TCs in the past. They are tough in as nice shape as yours. Most seen are folded 2-3 times and sometimes with tears along the weak old fold marks. They are in reality a "trade card" and sometimes even found pasted in Victorian Scrapbooks of that era like most other trade cards. Yours is one of the nicest condition ones Ive seen.
