What was your collecting focus this month?

Alot of posters where knee deep in Precious metals thoughts.
I shyed away from buying any PM and instead focused on listed So Called Dollars
and the odd lot "unlisted SCD" which I take to mean "not really a SCD but still neat"

This is the net result:

It's a nice mix of oldies and relatively recent items.
Had a lot of fun snipe bidding and learned alot about history behind many of these coins.
All in all an enjoyible and inexpensive experience.

I've been traveling so my collecting has been collecting dust all month long.

New images of what I have. I have been trying out the new camera mainly. But I did pick up some gold on the BST board, right price for something I wanted.

    Type stuff as usual.
This month I bought a 1828 capped bust dime and an 1833 Bustie half. Both raw.

I like the Inco and Century of Progress pieces.

I've been putting a lot of time into modern world coins. Usually I concentrate
on cu/ ni but this month it's been more aluminum.

I am purchase free officially for over a month now. It's a lot of work to not buy but needed.

I have focused on my photography and study of varieties in my main series in the mean time.

Aside from PMs, I bought this off ebay for my barber dime set. Now the first row in my dansco is all full liberty! I dont think I'll do that for the second row... that 95-O would be painful to upgrade.

I tagged this 94-O for my dime set. It's super origional and exactly what I wanted for my set:

This is the other coin I got this month. I'm super pleased with it. I'd been looking for a really nice AU for over a year. I never found one I liked. So I finally ponied up the dough for this NGC 64:

In the last month I've added two pieces to my Lincoln 09-present basic circ. set and I'm on the fence about replacing two Satin Finish pieces with circulating coins.
Also, about a month ago I began looking seriously for a quarter eagle. I found one in my price range and it looked so good I sent it in for the quarterly freebie (and a Trueview).

My focus this month was collecting paper dollars so I could pay my heating bill.

    Trade Dollars and Barber Halves;

    I don't have heating bills.

  • With the cost of everthing going up and eating into my collecting budget. I have taken a stroll to the darkside and put my type set on hold for a while. I decided to finally put together some of the modern non U.S. silver bullion sets, after studying the mintages and varieties in Pandas, Mapleleafs, Brittannias, Kangaroos, Kookaburras, Libertads, Koalas, Lunars, even Wolves, and now Philharmonics.. I see that its a rich field with lots of very low mintages, some as low as 750.. so I am going to play with them a bit, and work on my type set as pickup here and there.

  • Just updated my modern type set. Finally had to purchase a presidential dollar and first spouse in order to keep the set complete. Doubt I'll collect the series for either, but wanted to keep the set complete.

A lot of times unlisted SCD simply means it is an unlisted SCD. Sure it may not be a HK, but it can still be a SCD.

I love your SCD's, they are great!

  • Capped Bust Half Dimes, by variety. I picked up a couple of really nice coins to add to the collection, and have begun "cutting the cord" and selling off some random lower grade stuff that I bought before I began educating myself about coins in general, and half dimes in particular. This is the 1st time I've sold off any coins (rather than just had them stolen from me!), and it's a lot more difficult than I'd have thought!
