FWIW, if you look at completed items, he has apparently sold some sweet Montana's that brought a nice price from experienced ebayers, and were favorably received. My bet is it was graded a 9 but not by PSA and then he started digging a hole he couldn't climb out of.
I wish I still had the scan, but I sent a Payton in for grading that I was expecting to get an OC qualifier, and lo and behold it graded a straight 8. I couldn't believe it. Everyone I showed the card to couldn't believe it either....ya just never know
I could see it in a 9 slab if the corners were all sharp. I could also see it in a 9 OC slab, an 8.5 slab, an 8 slab, an 8 OC slab, a 7.5 slab, or a 7 slab. This is why the price discrepencies between grades is utterly riduculous. I'd like to live in a world where a PSA 9 of a card sells for $100, an 8 sells for $80, and a 7 sells for $60.
I couldn't buy it based on the amazingly dirty nails. Jesus, dude, get someone else to hold the card like your dogs mouth. Why do people insist on holding the cards in there hands anyway?
