Has anyone ever put a coin pic on a USPS PhotoStamp?

I saw PhotoStamps offered at the Post office last time I was in. Is this new? Has anyone put a picture of their favorite coin on a stamp? How'd it turn out?image

I thought the same thing when I was at the post office a few months ago.

I am just too cheap to try it. image

Someone gave me a sheet with my Schoolgirl dollar on the stamp for Xmas a couple years ago. I like them too much to use them. image

I tried to put a dong dollar on one and they rejected it!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

Why would anyone want to advertise to complete strangers that they are a coin collector? Doesn't sound too smart to me.

No, but I have my avatar picture (the Holey Gold Hat one) on some stamps, and a lot of people comment on them, particularly the non-numismatic members of my family.

Brides-and-grooms-to-be should get pictures made and put on the stamps, for mailing their wedding invitations.

How is that advertising that you are a collector? It's a picture of a coin. How does anyone know it's yours or that you collect them?

Why would a non collector put coins on a stamp? It's a safe assumption that there is a high likelyhood that anyone who puts coins on their stamps is a coin collector.

  • I put pics of a 1933 Saint on them once. Turned out very nice, and I used two whole sheets with no problems with my mail arriving safely.
