The Yankees are a class act

The Yankees traveled to Virginia Tech to show respect to the fallen victims of that horrible event. They beat
VT 11-0 in an exhibition game. Also, Mr. Steinbrenner has donated $1 million dollars to their scholarship fund.

The Yankees and Mr. Steinbrenner deserve a big round of applause for doing something kind for
others.

Now, may they still finish in 2nd place this year.

    Pretty dam nice no doubt about it - I hope the Yankees win the AL pennant because I would like to see a Phillies - Yankees WS.

    That goes without saying for anyone with a Red Sox avatar!
    However Steinbrenner has always been very generous with many Tampa Bay charities, so I have to respect that.

    A Phillies vs. Yankees World Series would be great. The Phils could get revenge for 1950 (They lost to the Yankees 4 to 0). If I'm not mistaken I believe that was the last WS the Yankees swept.

    i'm pretty sure after being down 0-2 in 96, they swept the next 4, then swept the padres and then the braves again.

    Surprising considering all the Phillies talent in 1950.

    Not that the Yanks didnt have it either, but the Phillies were a very talented team in 48, 49 and 50.
