I know that to watch Red Sox games here in Chicago on Direct TV you have to buy the MLB package; that is they block games on local sports networks that would otherwise be shown - which of course defeats the purpose of buying them. Not a direct answer, as when I last looked into it it was NESN, but hope it is of some help.

  • I watch every single game on NESN. Is that not avilable on Direct TV?

  • The Red Sox are on NESN in Boston. But my brother in law in New Jersey watches the Red Sox on the baseball package

I am in Chicago as well...sounds like Comcast would be blocked here unless I purchase the MLB package.

Comcast Sportsnet carries Celtics games here in Boston, but no Red Sox games.
