Cut signature cards

I've finally had a little time to experiment with someof my autographs. With guidence from experts like "Knuckles" I have a purpose for taking these autographs out of the box:

Bill Terry - last .400 hitter

Next - I got to meet Tug McGraw at a show and he filled out a business card for us. What a great guy. Its not an autograph, but its his signature.

  • I thought about making another Giants card with Monte Irvin's autograph, but I thought it would be different and more historical to have him in the Black baseball league.

I have a few more to do over the Easter break.

Nice job, good luck, and thanks for sharing image
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Great cards, yep, thanks for sharing.

So are you going to get them slabbed?

How cool is meeting the guy that signed, and how cool is the name Tug McGraw.

You wouldn't believe how he got the nickname. Google it, it's kind of funny.

Very nice cards. I wish I had one ounce of creatvity as some of your guys.
  • Thanks for all the compliments. Most of my autographs were acquired in person. Meeting Tug MacGraw was one of the best. My brother and I grew up in NY and the Mets of 1969 were special. To meet him was really cool.

Willie Stargell appeared at Sibley's in NYC some time around 1984. He let us try on his World Series Ring ... it was huge !

Billy Martin showed up for (umpire) Ken Kaiser's charity along with George and Ken Brett, Ken Singleton, Don Baylor and a few other I don't remember.

Denny McLain was the nicest guy. It was hard to believe he had so many problems that landed him in prison. To this day, he is one of the happiest, most cordial signers I've met. (unlike Willie Mays - nightmare)

I'm doing a few footbal for some guy. I'll post when their done.

  • This is a preliminary design for thenavarros' Fidel Castro autograph.

It will be a oversize card base on the 1960 topps.

Are you sure the card won't be oversized based on his ego? image

  • Steve,

Tug was a guest at one of our exhibits and filled out a business card, complete with address and telephone. so it was his writing but not neccessarily an autograph.

    I still value it.

thenavarro - if it fits like I think, it will cover the CUBA area on his jacket. I'll have more time to post tomorrow.
  • this is the mock-up. i may have to fit it tighter.

  • Nice cards. Are you using Photoshop for your editing, and what do you have on the reverse?

    J
  • Thanks J

I use both Adobe photoshop and a Corel paint program.

The back will have some historical stats. Design is forthcoming.

    cheers
