Value question on a CBH???

dizzyfoxxdizzyfoxx Posts: 9,823 ✭✭✭
What in your opinion is a value range for an extremely attractive 1812 CBH O-112a in a AU55 with outstanding eye appeal, color and luster???image

Edited to say: Not 100% sure about the O-112a designation. I've been told that it is one of the common varieties. But again, the color luster and eye-appeal are off the charts.

Whatever someone is willing to pay for it of course. I don't know much about Overton numbers, but I bet it's a $1500ish coin.
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

    low to mid 5 figures...

only because it would be a new die marriage discovery--there are only 10 marriages known for 1812.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

For an extremely attractive choice AU CBH, probably about 20x sheet.

Yes, I'm exaggerating. But barely, or so it seems.

In that case I would say somewhere in the 1200 to 1500 range retail. Try to get it for a grand.

  • Gray Sheet bid/ask is too low, and even Coin World Values "retail" seems low in the AU range.

Looks like a decent looking 50 with secondary culla.

Now send this Bustie in to PCGS, and report back their grade. Pretty toning.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
