WTF?
Not surprised with the lack of class though.
The same class of a coach that puts Garnett back into a 20+ blowout, in the 4th quarter, with 4 minutes left, on the end of a back-to-back.
You stay classy, San Diego.

Ever heard of the Clippers?

This has actually been a great year for the NBA. Lots of great young stars, and a lot of incredible basketball.

Agreed. The playoffs (especially in the West) are going to be amazing.

Ironically he just started the Moses Malone diet. I hear Larry Bird hooked him up with the plan.

Yeah, I hear Moses really does eat ****
Gotta love Larry at the post championship celebrations at City Hall Plaza. Anyone ever catch him across the street at the Fours after games drinking beers and having a couple of heaters? I'd love to know how many pro athletes still smoke.

The Rockets were not expected to really amount to much this season, even much less after Yao went down. The odds to win the Championship were at 30-1 and our lineup is mostly comprised of scrappers. Putting together a 22-game winning streak with these players is probably one of the best NBA stories in a long time. I'm willing to wager that you won't see another streak like that, regardless of team, in a looooooooong time. Regardless of how this season plays out, I'm truly proud of my team, especially considering what's happened this year (new front office, new coach, numerous injuries, etc).
Boston, on the other hand, has been the odds on favorite to win the Championship since day 1. They have an All-Star roster and on paper, should be the team to beat and have the best record without a doubt. If they don't win it all, this team will go down as one of the biggest disappointments in NBA history and forever be known as world class chokers.
Shove that in your clam chowdah and smoke it.

That observation feels so current during Political season. It's like the Clinton camp saying that Pennsylvania means everything (when of course it doesn't) and the Obama camp saying it means next to nothing in the grand scheme (which is somewhat untrue). Dampening expectations is a common trend in politicas - and I guess now in sports too.
Stown, your team just reeled off 22 straight, don't worry about losing to one of 2 teams in the NBA that has a better record. That was a crazy/amazing streak. In the West, getting into the playoffs is all that matters, Every teams is somewhat equal. Golden State could beat San Antonio or LA on any given night. The Rockets could beat DAL and NO any day of the week. That's what is going to make these playoff so fun. By comparison, my Celtics and the other top 3 in the East will cakewalk through round 1. That's what I would be worried about in the West. It's almost like the top 4 in the East have a bye through the 1st round while the West will be killing each other. Playing an extra hard playoff round will definitely hurt the West in the Finals, no matter if it's DET, BOS, CLE or ORL.

While your comparing apples to oranges, I just couldn't understand all of the Houston hatters.
For example, "Yeah, I hear Moses really does eat ****"?
But whatever... The West will continue to beat the crud out of each other while the East coasts through inferior teams.
A little bit of an overstatement, don't you think?
I believe the over-under on Celtic wins in Vegas in the pre-season was something like 50....they were the 6th or 7th favorite heading into the season. EVERYONE thought it would take them at least 1/2 year, maybe a full year to put it all together. Even in Boston, in the preseason, the talk was maybe they can get to the Eastern Conference Finals against Detroit.
What NOBODY counted on was a 4 thru 10 "supporting cast" that is the best the league has to offer, and that they would come to bring it EVERY night. This team doesn't take nights off. They wanted Houston to beat LA on Sunday so that they would have the chance to knock them off.
I understand the anti-Boston sentiment around the country is at an all-time high because our sports teams have been so dominant in the new millenium. But to say the C's would be "world class chokers" for not winning it is plain silly. It wouldn't even rank in the Top 10 biggest disappointments in NBA history.
What the Rockets did was impressive, especially in the West. The first round in the East might be a cakewalk, but the East's 1-4 would match up OK with anyone in the West.

Yeah, the Celtics are only something like 16-2 against the west, and played a tough game the night before in SA, the Rockets were home waiting for them. It's not a case of Rocket haters, but Celtics lovers. If it had been any other team, it would have been news, but nothing like this.
BTW, before the Allen trade the Celtics were like 200-1 to win the Championship, like 100-1 after, and still 20-1 after the Garnett deal. There is some $$ to be made on them this year.

I was in Vegas two days before the trade. Now, whenever I'm in Vegas, I usually put $20 on every Boston team to win the title. I looked up at the 85-1 odds on the C's at the Mirage that day and said - NAH, what's the point. Wish I had that one back.

Maybe the nonstop talk of Boston possibly winning all three major championships (MLB, NFL, NBA) was just a figment of my imagination.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Anyway, you never heard trash coming from me during the streak.
Creating a thread rejoicing an insignificant regular season win proves my point.
I just hope the end of last night's game antics don't come back to haunt you.
Scratch that.
I hope they do.
edited to add: In regards to the odds, according to this RELIABLE site, you were looking at the board after last season.
Since the Garnett trade, you couldn't find anything better than 16-1.
